I want to share this website. This is ugly and I can’t blame you if you don’t want to go forward.

I am sharing because I saw someone posting about not leaving your children with people on Facebook. In addition, there is a ton of buzz around that movie out about trafficking. So, in case you needed to know why you shouldn’t leave your children with other people, here it is.

This is a creator/person that has committed to collecting data on who is making news for sex crimes involving children. I think it is important to know who is actually praying on children. The data, data collection, is all very transparent. You can download the raw data yourself, you can download the programs used to find these, and links to each case are also included. In addition, the collector goes back if charges were dropped and removes them. So far, there have been 20 weeks of data and in that time, there have been 1,221 cases of sex crimes involving children. This is not counting materials cases (just viewing child porn or pictures – not that it isn’t horrible but it would be too many to track by one person).

Couple things I wanted to point out:

West Virginia, where I live, is the third highest state per capita of these crimes.

The people committing these crimes are unfortunately largely friends/family/church workers/cops/coaches.

There is not a single Drag Queen on the list.

I have been watching this weekly and will continue to. It is heartbreaking and something we all need to be aware of.
