I loved reading as a kid. I would devour books. Reading continued into adulthood and then all of a sudden I stopped. I would try to get back into it and maybe get through a book and just couldn’t anymore. I don’t even really know why I found it difficult but honestly, I was finding most of life difficult, so there is that. 

So, I tried audiobooks. And let me just tell ya, it worked! Since then I have been able to pick a book a read again too! It could be the ADHD meds or the learning how my mind really works or who knows, but eh, whatever.

I just finished Where the Crawdads Sing and I gave it 3 out of 5 stars. This whole star thing is hard. So here is what I am trying for. I didn’t do this in the past so my older reads are all like 4 and 5 starts because well, I just like books, but I digress. 1 star is bad and maybe even didn’t finish it. 2 stars is not really well written or the story was awful. 3 is average. It may have a good quality or 2 but overall, it is just a book. I don’t know if I read it before others. 4 is a really, really good book. 5 is the GOAT.

So this is a solid 3. I kind of thought there was some predictability and a little underwhelming. It was somber throughout as a tone. I will say the writing itself though, descriptions of nature, were amazing.
